the less impressive 2.0-liter turbo was replaced by a new, more powerful engine: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged with 300 horsepower. This new engine has significantly improved the base model. The G70 is a truly exceptional sports sedan thanks to its 3.3-liter V-6 turbocharged engine, which generates 365 horsepower. The G70’s fast chassis, luxurious cabin, and streamlined and powerful appearance make it similar to the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 3-series.
The base model’s new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, called the G70 2.5T, generates 300 horsepower and drives the back wheels through an eight-speed automated transmission. All-wheel drive is an additional choice. Drivers will noticeably notice the more power compared to the old engine, which should speed up the car’s acceleration to 60 mph.
Whichever engine choice you choose, the G70 offers a balanced and seamless handling and ride. Its suspension smoothes out rough roads, and the car stays stable at sharp turns.Long highway drives are particularly enjoyable with the G70 since it provides a smooth and quiet ride. We often recommend choosing the Sport Advanced 3.3T version because our 2019 long-term evaluation of the previous 2.0-liter turbo engine was a bit disappointing. But we’re impressed after trying the new 2.5-liter turbo engine in 2024 with the 3.3T.
The price of the 2025 Genesis G70 can range from $43,250 to $56,100, depending on the options and trim level.
