The Mercedes-AMG SL-class of 2025 is a stunning convertible that combines style and performance. This iteration of the SL prioritizes performance while maintaining the luxury that appeals to its typical buyers. Unlike previous models, the new SL includes a two-plus-two seating layout, however the back seats are better used for storage items than for sitting passengers. To reduce sun glare, a large touchscreen in the middle of the cabin may be angled. Compared to the previous model’s retractable hardtop, the SL’s electric soft top takes up less trunk space when lowered.

The SL55 and SL63 are powered by a 4.0-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine, which generates 469 horsepower and 577 horsepower, respectively. These models come equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel steering, and all-wheel drive as standard. The SL-class can rival the Porsche 911, Lexus LC, and BMW 8-series convertibles thanks to the greatest powertrains.
In our tests, the SL43 reached 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. With 805 horsepower, the SL63 S E Performance plug-in hybrid is the most powerful model thanks to its twin-turbo V-8 and electric motor combo. While the SL55 gets 14 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the interstate, the SL63 gets 13 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.
Mercedes’ latest MBUX infotainment system, which comes standard on all SL models, has a configurable 11.9-inch touchscreen and the “Hey Mercedes” virtual assistant. A 12.3-inch digital gauge display is also standard. With a starting price of about $112K, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG SL-Class might cost up to $200K, depending on the grade and accessories.
