#What’s New
Nissan has a reputation for making the most out of their cars in 2025. The previous model Pathfinder SUV was on the market for about nine years before a thorough redesign, whilst the Frontier midsize truck stayed mostly untouched for more than 15 years. The latest iteration of Murano has had very minor changes since its debut in 2015. Nevertheless, according to industry reports, the most recent version of this midsize crossover will make its debut as the 2025 Nissan Murano.
Spy photos show a sleek new design that seems similar to the current model, even if official information is still pending. This design includes a rear spoiler, a tapering roof, and a “floating roof” concept that creates the illusion of a continuous window line. The V-shaped grille is still there, but the front end looks more modern with thinner headlights and maybe a wrap-around lightbar. The horizontal lines on the side panels seem flatter.
#Engine Specs
It is expected that the new Murano will still be powered by a gas engine, most likely an updated 3.5-liter V6 with 260 horsepower that now drives the car. We anticipate that the current continuously variable transmission (CVT) will be replaced by a nine-speed automatic gearbox similar to the most recent Pathfinder, which is built on the same platform as the Murano. The inside of the Murano may be renovated to increase internal storage and freight capacity, two things it now lacks. We think Nissan should stick with its great selection of standard driver aid functions, but instead of the current 8-inch touchscreen, we’d like to see at least one larger display available.
#Rivals
Among the great options in the midsize crossover market are the Volkswagen Atlas CrossSport, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, and Honda Passport. While the Santa Fe just had a makeover and now has a standard third row, the Honda and Volkswagen models provide more power and luggage space than the current Murano. Along with more off-road-oriented models like the Ford Bronco, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Subaru Outback, other choices include the Ford Edge and Chevrolet Blazer. Although the starting prices of all of these are comparable to those of the Murano, they are more functional and competent.
#Expected Launch Date
Overall, improved features and a fresh look are predicted for the 2025 Nissan Murano, providing it a competitive advantage in the midsize crossover market. The 2018 Murano’s updated look, new drivetrain, and maybe more inside space may appeal to those looking for a stylish and practical crossover. We’ll be able to more precisely compare it to its rivals when more data becomes available.
